As a local, I suggest some of these dining options. If you are looking for some delicious charbroiled oysters, I recommend Mr. Ed's Oyster Bar and Fish House. I order the "Southwest" oysters. But, they are absolutely delicious. If you are looking for something sweet, I love Café Du Monde. If you are in the mood for a good steak, I suggest Desi Vegas. I absolutely LOVE the "Who Dat" Shrimp, Sizzling Crab Cakes, and the Passion Fruit Cheesecake. It is my husband and I's favorite steakhouse in the city! If you are in the mood for some good Southern Cooking, I recommend Mother's Restaurant. The food is delicious.. and cheap! I absolutely love the gumbo and smothered cabbage there. Honestly, all of their food is delicious. So, you will not go wrong with whatever you choose to order. It is a perfect little lunch spot. Lastly, I love the flaming bananas foster at Palace Café.
